First, a very deep word of appreciation to you who have "felt my pain," and done something about that. You are so kind to have sent warm wishes and encouragement. I get by with a lot of help from such friends.
Second, I am getting better. The more I rest my leg, the better things are feeling. I had tea this afternoon with a friend who is having knee problems. About which he was in to see a specialist fairly recently. The specialist's advice to my friend: lots of rest for knees, a little bit of walking, or (better still) swimming. I feel vindicated! I'm being good, getting lots of rest, which is my excuse to spend lots of time visiting the blogiverse (or whatever you want to call it).
Third, I will be going back to my vet in about a week, by which time I expect to be much better — maybe even close to all better. (Oh, wait. Not my vet, my doctor. Sometimes I get a bit carried away with this ursine persona.)
As to what happened to me, well, it's like this. . . .
One other thought, while I'm on the subject. Diana, over at Welcome to My World in the "running" for the title of "Most Bionic Woman Since Jamie Summers." Diana has had two knees replaced at the same time. (If that isn't a hero, I don't know who is.) Physio is next. We, however, have not signed her up for the Boston Marathon. Yet. Perhaps you could drop over and pass on a cheery word. Thanks.

Oh Bear, so sad to hear about your woes! Get well soon.
So glad you are feeling better. I'm hoping that if you do "swimming," you'll send photos, puhleeze.
That cup of tea is probably what helped the most.
Truly, I'm glad that you are feeling better, Bear.
I'm glad you're feeling better Bear. What did people do before knee replacements I wonder. Suffer? Or maybe that's why my grandparents were always to be found in their Lazy Boy things.
Hoping you stay better!
I swim daily now for my pain and it really does work. I used to do water aerobics and it really worked for knee replacements, hips and just me terrible joints:)
That's better, Bear. Much happier news. I hope your doc/vet finds the situation much improved when you go for a re-check. I was wondering if you tried massage and/or acupuncture. I swear by both (though I usually leave the swearing to my husband).
About six years ago when I was in yoga class (sounds like something I should do again since I don't practice well on my own) my yoga teacher was having a flare-up of a knee condition. She could not perform some of the poses and she sighed and said that "Aging is humbling." She and her husband recently moved back to Hawaii after 25 years on the mainland. I bet that climate is helping her.
Hope each day finds you stronger...
So glad top hear you are getting a bit better. You are a very brave bear.
Glad you're feeling better.
Pleased to hear that you are feeling better.
Oh I'm so glad you are feeling so much better. I know even five years ago i felt invincible health wise but more now friends have been feeling poorly, have had all sorts of ailments and illnesses and now its all a reality...
I'm glad to hear you're feeling better!
Good to hear you're feeling somewhat better. Keep on taking care.
Best of luck on your continued recovery!
Sorry to hear about your dickie knee, Rob-bear. I missed the first post as I have been, well, distracted, but I am working with the non-linear theories of time now and sending you positive, healing thoughts for your knee, which I know you will have had received over the last few days ;o)
Glad to hear you're feeling better.
Oh dear Bear, you've had your troubles and I was so engrossed in my life I didn't realise. So glad you are feeling better now - cariad i ti. x
I can't recommend "Pain Free: A Revolutionary Method For Stopping Chronic Pain" (Pete Egoscue) enough. I can talk about it too much, though, according to all my friends who are still backing away from me. So I'll try not to. Pick it up for a tenner and fix yourself. I did. Fired my chiropractor of 25 years, too.
