Just when I got into a deep, hibernal rest . . . the Solar Alarm Clock went off, AGAIN!!!
Bright light shining into my den, strong enough to almost blind me. Snow melting; water dripping everywhere; slushy and slippery when I try to stand up outside.
What's a Bear to do when he can't get into hibernation?
® Diva: I play that with the Beaver in the summer. He makes the pieces, so we have a good supply. But he's lodged in his lodge for the winter.
Thanks for the suggestion. Do you have any others?
Watch Rick Mercer tag bear cubs in Algonquin Park on Youtube?
I'd make some bacon and eggs and have a cup of hot chocolate... maybe take a peek outside.
You always have friends who will visit if you are awake
Enjoy the good days...this might be your "new normal"...
Vodka? Strip poker? YouTube?
It's hard to be awake sometimes but enjoy yourself nonetheless.
"New normal"? as in climate warming or just plain Sirocco havok?
® BF: I saw part of that. I should go back to it.
Talk about a human living dangerously!
® Genie: Bacon and eggs. Hot chocolate. Yes! C'est très bien!
And visiting with friends. Bien sur!
®afcg: I've been through so many "new normals" over the last few years, with my health challenges, that I no longer know what's normal. Sadly.
® Dedene: Strip poker?! The only ones around who play that are wolves. That's what they play with you just before they eat you.
Word of caution: don't play cards that with wolves.
Substitute Scotch for vodka, and a good book for YouTube. Now we're getting somewhere!
Merci pour les idées excellentes.
® potsoc: Well, the climate is getting different, absolument. Polar bears are drowning — something virtually unheard of in the past. And Grizzley Bears are moving into Polar Bear territory. La monde est étrange! Very strange.
Write a list of people and things that make you smile. Have a glass of Vodka ,while reading your book in a nice warm bath. Start again tomorrow.
NORMAL has a different meaning according to your age and location.
What was normal for me a year ago, is now history.
ABNORMAL is the new normal.
® Natalie: Great ideas! Thank you!
Only, I don't read books in the bath; the pages get wet, and the library is not amused when I return the book.
And when was the last time you heard of a Bear lying in a bath?
And not vodka; good Scotch, with just a touch of water.
And I'm smiling as I'm thinking about the list of things/people that make me smile. (THAT INCLUDES YOU!)
® Dana: That's the point I was making when I replied to afcg. Thanks for your support. It's nice to know I'm not the only abnormal one around who is trying to discover my new normal.
A quick note to all of you. It appears there may be some excellent options for hibernating in Northumberland, England, or in Wales. I have made enquiries of fellow bloggers who may be offering options.
Please stay tuned!
I wish I could hibernate! :)
® Rachel: Hibernating would be nice. Unfortunately, the world doesn't work that way for people.
What is "hibernate" ??? :)))
Ahhh....I only dream of such!
® TP: sorry to be so slow in replying, Jackie!
Hibernate is when you decide to "cool your jets," let the world get along without you, and wake up very refreshed (though very hungry) when the weather is much nicer.
You should try it; I recommend it highly!
