IN WHICH BEAR BOUNCES BACK . . .

and ends up as clouless as Inspector Clouseau. Which is not at all comforting.

What has been comforting is the large number of kind wishes I have received from people. THANK YOU!!!!

Here's the story.

Usually, when spring arrives, I go a little crazy, with depression. And added pain. Happens as regularly as clockwork. And it happened this year. So, this is normal, though it is a "new normal." Or, more appropriately, it is expected. And it lasts a couple of weeks.

But not this year. The whole experience this time has come and gone in a less than a handful of days.

I do not understand this AT ALL! Any more than I understand this iPad that I am trying to use! (It is VERY TRYING!!!)

Members of my Editorial Committee are still here, but are as puzzled as I am about what is happening, and what to do. It is a nice sort of puzzled, but we are puzzled nonetheless.

So, I have decided to carry on as if I am as healthy as usual, and see what happens. (It is a bit like waiting for the next shoe to drop.)

Ciao for niao. Blessings and Bear hugs!

Oh yeah! I'm glad you are showing this bad fish who is boss!

I can't say I know any bad fish, but I know about some strange cats. Maybe they ate the bad fish.

Well there's another benefit to a shortened transition from winter into spring. I'm glad to hear it. A handful of bad days is so much better than a couple of weeks worth.

this is very good news, r-bear - as you say - a nice sort of puzzling. perhaps all that effort you put into the pain management program is paying off..

Rob, I am encouraged by you often...thanks for stopping by and commenting on my melancholy post...it is nice to be understood by a bear of a good friend...blessings sweet boy

I'm glad to hear it didn't last long this year! Though the uncertainty over why it did not must be at least a little stressful.

Rob-bear said...

@Golden Eagle: Thanks for visiting.

The uncertainty isn't really uncertain. I'm getting healthier, thus stronger, thus I recover more quickly. I'm finding that true with my physical ailments; I believe that is likely true of my mental imbalance.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. Until a more reasonable explanation comes along. Though I doubt that will happen.

chronic depression is something I know about but only as a mental health nurse
I have been blessed with a fairly chirpy psyche... which I am so grateful for!
you write well my man

Shw mae, John .

The first thing that came to mind when I read your note was the saying, "If your think my eyes look bloodshot, you should see them from in here!"

Chronic major depression in a beach on which nobody plays volleyball. And where people swim around I darkness.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Here! Here! A post of good cheer and a tad bit of hope from Bear is exactly what I want to think about at bedtime...assuring sweet dreams, for which I am most thankful, and which I wish for you in return.

Rob-bear said...

Ah, Lydia. Yes, good thoughts on which to end a day.

Bear is restless tonight. Went to bed at a decent time, but today's weather (rain, followed by a snow storm) -- well, it's been a bit strange.

Hope you have slept well. I'm doing back to bed soon, too.

Thanks for all the comments on my blog. I am glad your seasonal depression and pain lasted for a lesser amount of time this year. I'm sure that was a welcome relief. Good for you for getting the iPAD. They look great and "easy" to use. I'm sure you will have it figured out in no time :)

Pleased to read that your recent sessions have helped with more than your physical aches and pains.

I'm glad to hear that your recent venture into depression was such a short one. We should all be that blessed. Maybe you are doing all the right things. It's a mystery, isn't it?

@corgi: This iPad is not easy to use. It is VERY frustrating to use. It may go back.

Thanks for the good wishes.

@ cheshire wife: Thanks for the support.

We even had a pharmacist on the care team. (I think you call then chemists or dispensing chemists.) I thought the addition of the chemist was a brilliant move. Who would know more about pain medications?

@Irene: Thanks for visiting the Bear.

I think I'm doing the right thing, because that's what I've been taught, and I'm following the plan. And I plan to continue doing that.

Goodie for no depression! I deal with that crap sometimes too. No fun at all. Now you can forage for berries in peace and joy. :)

I do the same. Carry on that is, as if I was a normally healthy person. Who knows by doing so perhaps we can make it so.

I think it may be due to this crazy weather we're having. But it's great it didn't last long this year. Also, I can't find your latest post, the one with the award. Congrats anyway!

My dear Bear I do hope you are continuing to show signs of speedy recovery. It does sound as if you found some very positive 'tracks' to follow. Here's hoping it's a sign of better things to come.

Award? What award? Grrrrrrr, I want to read all about it Bear!!

Rob-bear said...

@ Inger: I know the change of seasons and related change of weather do mess me up. Thankfully, for a very short period. And thanks for your thoughtfulness.

About the awards post. It was recalled for "reconstruction." Not only cars are recalled by their creators.

@ The Broad: Thank you. Now that Bear is feeling better, he can concentrate on more important things, like shoes, ships, sealing wax, cabbages, and kings. (Apologies to Lewis Carroll.)

@ Helen: Has anyone ever suggested to that you may be just a teeny tiny bit short of patience? If they did, they were wrong.
