BEARS NOTING

Some time ago, I wrote/threatened/promised I would start publishing some of my "Moral Economy" Op-Ed columns on my Bears Noting blog. Next week, I am going to start doing that.

Chrome on the Range is my everyday, "fun, friends, and family" (and sometimes serious) blog. Bears Noting on the other hand, is deliberately set for "more serious stuff." While that may sound ominous, it will be OK; as long as I don't take myself too seriously. (When was the last time Bear did that?)

But I'll give you a "heads up" here when I'm adding to Bears Noting.

Next weeks piece will deal with political disenchantment in Canada, and some related thoughts.

Always interesting stopping in your neck of the woods. I shall check at your other post for all things political.

I'm a first time visitor from Suburbia's site. You'd mentioned your "Flower of Adversity" and that piqued my curiosity. I LOVE it and I've 'snitched' it for my own blog because it fits into the theme of life so well, which is what my blog is all about. I read your "freedom of the press" blurb at the bottom and I'm hoping it's ok that I used it. If not, please leave a comment at my site and I'll gladly remove it. I live 'just south' of you with Washington State in between! :-D

® Snow: Always look forward to your visits.

® lakviewer: I like your place too. I may not comment every time, but I like it.

® Jackie: Great! I'll be watching for you.

® Miss Kim: Thanks for coming by! In your honour, I've put something on my sidebar saying that I don't copyright anything. (You can read the rest later.)

I'm not up on North American politics at all - or politics in general really. I'll probably still just hang around here.

Thank you for coming by and leaving so many nice comments! Funny how I just assumed you live in BC...that's what I think when I hear 'western Canada'. Interesting that you live in Saskatchewan...my Dear Hubby's family first emigrated there from Austria in the late 1910's, then came down and settled in Oregon City, OR. Still a lot of the family - cousins, etc. - that live up that way.

Look forward to reading your your Op-Ed columns. I shall be there to visit in between my revisions. Thanks for being a loyal bear.

® FF: Canada's probably no different from most places when it comes some of the issues raised. I know that Parisians tend to take to the streets, historically, but there's more.

® MissKris: Small world — degrees of separation, etc. Thanks for the personal note. (Sorry I called you Kim last note; I've had eye surgery and cannot see all that well — that'll change once the work is done, in a couple of weeks.)

Well I look forward to reading your take on this silly government of ours......I avoid politics and religion on my blog, don't have the energy or the qualifications to get into it!!

® Sonia: Hope you won't be disappointed.

® Gill: Politics and religion are my "stock in trade." Politics is not necessarily government per se; sometime things like "citizen engagement."
