A CLOUDY DAY

Consider Joni Mitchell's take on things.

Bows and flows of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
And feathered canyons everywhere
I've looked at clouds that way.

But now they only block the sun
They rain and snow on everyone
So many things I would have done
But clouds got in my way.

I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down, and still somehow
It's cloud illusions I recall
I really don't know clouds at all.

I will be back!
I'm not sure when.
Promise?
Threat?
Take you pick.

Promise I'm sure and want it to be that way. Remember the SILVER LINING.

Oh dear.. this sounds a tad worrisome. A promise, I hope. Sending best thoughts your way, Rob.

Promise. I know it's a promise. Funny. When I was young, around 25, we'd have Joni Mitchell contests, to see who could do the best imitation.

I won. And yes, I am tossing my hair and shall strut out of the room... that is, if my left and right legs work at the same time.

We'll be here, ready to read.

Oh no are you saying that you are taking a break for awhile? I have to tell you that I will miss you. I love that song too - makes you think.

Looking forward to more of you, Bear.

Love to cloud watch, especially at the beach.

I sure do hope it's a promise.

DRAT! If you would limit yourself to ONE blog...Maybe the sheer number of them overwhelm you.

I never know which one to put on my sidebar.

I remember this song! Not sure if you saw my reply to your comment on my blog but yes I'll send you an ARC and I'm thrilled that you're adding book reviews here!

® potsoc: Promises, Paul; promises. But don't let on. OK?

® Hilary: If promises you want, promises you will get.

® JeannetteLS: Joni Mitchell contest. Who would have guessed?
Her parents lived here. Her mom died a few years ago; dad died last year. She was back for the funerals.
There was a plan to build a Joni Mitchell museum here; City Council didn't like the idea, as I recall. So the plan died. Or maybe drove off in a big yellow taxi.

® Chatty Crone: To tell the truth, I'm like the guy who quit smoking. Between cigarettes. (Not that I even smoked them.) I quit blogging between posts.
We've had the grandchildren with us for part of just about every week since the late spring, so life is busier. You understand.

® roasria williams: Thanks. I have been updating all my blogs. Not sure why; mostly, I guess, I just want them to look nicer.

® farawayeyes: I love to cloud watch at the beach. The problem is that our beach is only a few feet wide, and sometimes disappears entirely among the rocks. (But you've given me an idea for a photo shoot!)
Promises, promises.

® lotta joy: Actually, I'm bringing in a new feature. Every time I publish on this blog, I'll let you now what's happening on the others. So if you've got this one, you'll have all the rest (so to speak).

I hope you don't leave us between posts too long because we will be lost without you. xox

Please do stay since I've only just met you.

Bear, I am hoping that your return will be sooner rather than later.

Meanwhile, let's all enjoy the changing beauty of clouds.

® Irene: If gone, not long. Thanks.

® KleinsteMotte: Si je disparais, il ne sera pas pendant longtemps. As I said to Irene.

® Frances: I don't want to be away too long; I would probably miss something interesting. Bears don't like to miss interesting events.

Take your time, we'll wait.

May your journey see you through fair weather skies until you return.

ps: I met her once on W. 8th in Vancouver when she caught up with my then 4 year old son and I so she could talk to him.

Its a promise you'll be back; definitely not a threat. I look forward to it when it happens. Always good to step away from blogs at times I do believe

I just hope this bear doesn't find a need to hibernate too awfully long, since I would really miss him. Make sure to take your honey jar along...

I never really thought about those words. I woke up in a foul mood today and realised I could be looking at my same reality in a much lighter way - thanks for posting this. Loving the new look of your blog, by the way, take a nice break and feel better soon.

Be back soon! Would that be termed "Bearback"?!!!

Beautiful photos with one of my favorite Joni Mitchell songs. Thanks for the treat.

r-bear is unmasked!!! (and very handsome in his new photo!!)

joni mitchell is my all time favorite singer and i love this song. summer is a time for lying on your back and watching clouds go by —— for both man and bear!

It most certainly a promise! I do love that Joni M song (and now will be humming it for the rest of the day).

Everyone needs a break from time to time.

® Karen: Sorry I missed you! And I'll look forward to receiving the ARC. It's been a while since I've done book reviews. But they appeal to my more literate nature.

® J Cosmo Newbery: Thanks.

® susan: I will learn to spell your name correctly.
Thanks for adding your experience with Joni.

® That corgi: Thanks. I hope your break goes well. Learning new things on a computer is always challenging.

® Diana: I've hardly been away. Too much happening to miss blogging.

® DJan: Hibernate in the summer? Summer is for eating and swimming! And blogging. And taking pictures of clouds.

® Gene Pool Diva: Lots of clouds here. Taking more pictures. More stories coming.

® Better is Possible: Not away long. Hope your summer is going well.

® Donna K. Weaver: Yeah; brings back memories! Thanks.

® The Golden Eagle: Hardly away at all. Glad you're still there!

® A lady's Life: Blue and hazy in the land of the Bear today. Too hot for much of anything (except the swimming pool).

® cheshire wife: The clouds keep disappearing. And coming back. Tis the nature of clouds, I think.

® About Last Weekend: Thanks, Jody, and you're welcome.

® Lydia: Glad you enjoyed the posting. I'm already back. Here, at least; though not at my poetry blog. Soon (I keep promising myself).

® amanda: Bear is unmasked, and is feeling a bit naked. Not sure what to do about that.
Summer: time for looking at clouds, and photographing them. Among other things.
How is the book coming?

® Inger: You've terrified me. I may go into hiding for good.

® Genie — Paris and Beyond: I've decided not to take too much of a break. Blogging keeps my mind for rusting out.
