SEASONS CHANGE

We haven't had our first frost of the season, though other places have. We should receive ours before the weekend. Time to finish harvesting the produce from the micro-garden on our micro-holding. And look at the trees.

"Green leaves of summer turn red in the fall

"To brown and to yellow they fade.

"And then they have to die

The circle time parade of changes."

Beautiful! I loved fall when I was in Texas. In the NW I'm not liking it so much, it means the rains are coming.

It's that time again; I don't want to rush the change, but it is all good.

I do believe we are privileged to have four seasons, it keeps our hope alive.

Frost? Is that part of one of the seasons? :)))
Yes...living in South "Jawja" USA, I see very little if any of it during the winter....but I do feel a difference in the air this week...and how wonderful it is. Your photos are lovely....Thank you for sharing them along with "Changes."

Wonderful pictures. Fall colours will be here soon. Our apples are red now and the walnuts are starting to drop off the tree. Soon we'll be able to make banana bread again as it tastes best with homegrown walnuts, you know.

® Diva: Seasons do change with regions. I grew up in Eastern Canada, and still miss the bright red colours of the maples and oaks in the fall.

® lakeviewer: Trying to rush the seasons, or push the river, is not helpful. Seasons unfold in their own time. Best enjoy each one to the fullest, indeed.

® potsoc: Actually, we have five seasons (thought I may have mentioned that before). We have "almost winter," (i.e. autumn) "winter," "still winter," "getting nicer," and "road construction."

® Lee: Great cycling weather indeed. If only I had the energy, I'd love to be at it.

® Jackie: "Frost" is the harbinger of "winter." That's one of our seasons, as I've explained to potsoc.

® BF: Banana bread with walnuts. Now that you've mentioned it, you're going to have to send me some.

® Wendy: The cycle of the seasons is essential; each plays its own part in the circle of the year. And I do my best to enjoy each in its time.

® Reasons: So glad you're back! And, as I told the Diva, I REALLY miss the autumn reds, as you might understand. I'd love to have a white or red oak, or a sugar maple in my yard.

Had to laugh at your comment about "five seasons"...that means in Arizona we have three...summmer, summer and road construction! maybe four if you don't blink too many times! Lovely pics...

first frost -- yikes! get those green tomatoes off the vines and fry them up!

It's hard to believe it's almost that time again. Doesn't it feel like the seasons are reeling past?

® afcg: Sounds like you're trying to economize — three seasons instead of five. Whatever works, I guess.

® amanda: Actually, I'm trying to get the rest of the tomatoes in today. And, yes, most of them are green, and small. Oh, the "joys" of a cold, wet summer. (Perhaps I should blog about that.)

® Nancy: Yes. I'm still trying to figure out that happened to January.
