RAINY DAYS AND MONDAYS (on Friday)

It's one of those days, again. It's been raining all night. The street gutters are full of water, because the storm drains are getting plugged with fallen leaves. In one spot, the road is completely covered. Sidewalks are littered with the bodies of dead and dying earthworms, flushed from their tiny underground caverns by the deluge. It's barely breakfast time, and we're supposed to get rain all day.

Given all the rainy days we've had this year, it's been a bit hard to keep our spirits up.

What to do with all these grey, wet days, that are still happening with unseemly frequency?

Her Ladyship, Miss Sadie, knows exactly what's appropriate.

Right, then. Any questions?

It rained terribly in the south of France and many people's homes got flooded. Isn't this weird summer weather?

Weird weather, indeed.

Where I live is classified as a "semi-arid" area in the middle of the continent. We've had record rainfalls this year. Millions of acres of prime agricultural land are flooded — some unseeded, others with crops rotting in the fields — simply because people couldn't, or can't, get on the land to work.

Quelle domage sums it up quite nicely. C'est terrible!

A comedian once said "There is no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes.."
So what is correct apparel for a deluge Bear? Flippers and snorkel perhaps. Sorry everything is so "dreicht" as we Scots say.
Chin up, dear thing!

® Patsy: Same apparel as always — fur coat.

Human beings need sunshine. It's been a rotten summer in the UK, too. It's difficult to keep your spirits up when all is wet and grey outside, even if it's warm, like it is here today - wet and 22degreesC !!
Sadie looks gorgeous - she looks as though she has recently been trimmed. She definitely has the right idea.

Twice yesterday I tried to leave a comment and after I'd done my stuff I then got an error message. Fingers crossed my mark is left here and that you are not having a rainy day today.

® Gabriele: Welcome. Glad you dropped by. Hope you'll visit again.

® Natalie: With my luck, I'd end up somewhere in the Australian Alps, and be "The Man, . . ." er, um, "The Bear from Snowy River." ("Banjo" Patterson lives!)

® Jean: Yup: wet and 22C. That spells "Yuck." Sorry you've had the same. And, yes; Miss Sadie had a hair cut a couple of weeks ago.

® Julie: Interesting; I got three messages from you, all the same. I think "Blogger" is "all boggered up." (Can I say that in polite company?)

Yeah, I've got a question: what's the capital of Guatemala?

Rob-bear said...

® Lee: The capital of Guatemala is Guatemala City. My father almost had to go to Tegucigalpa, Honduras, once, on business. I'm glad he didn't go.

® Jane: Thanks for the encouragement. I'll see if I can find the Bear book on this side of the pond.

® Amanda: You're right about dogs! Former Dominican priest Matthew Fox once said something about having his dog for a Spiritual Director. I concur!
