PHOTO OF THE DAY/Photo du Jour

Ou est la ville?/Where's the city?

Sadie and I went for our morning walk, as per usual today.

Normally when we get to the park where the sanatorium used to be, we can see right across the river to the buildings on the east side of the city.

Not today.
We've been having quite a bit or rain over the last couple of days. Sadie and I walked in the break between the showers. It's quite humid, and the temperature is only 4°C (39F). You can see the result.

i actually quite like foggy weather ------ as long as there are breaks when the sun shines through!

The mist has been hiding our views here too - but not today. Today we had frost and blue skies.

PS Thank you (or should I say merci beaucoup or diolch yn fawr?) for your comments on my post about cameras. I have just read your September photography post; keeping the 35mm one for b&w sounds a terrific idea.

We have had a lovely clear day here today, but strangely when it is clear it means that bad weather is on the way and tomorrow we are getting your rain.

That's a beautiful picture, but it's haunting!

Hello Bear.!

I love the background picture to your post, it conjures up a beautiful summer's day, not so here in Norfolk, England.

The photo of your walk with Miss Sadie looks beautiful, set amongst the mist.

Foggy, foggy dew. One of my favorite things.

Thanks for the visit! It looks extremely cold where you're at, although I love the picture.

I think your photo is very beautiful, Bearet.
4C? Not so much.

® Amanda: I love foggy, rainy and snowy weather too. I lends a sense of mystery to the world.

® Mags: I'm waiting for the morning; we're supposed to get snow overnight. Might make nice pix (colour or b&w) when we wake up.

® CW: Do you get a strong on-shore wind from the Irish Sea?

® Diva: Yes, haunting — not sure what's out there.

® Camilla: Thanks for coming by! I always think of England as being damp, cool, and foggy. I'm sure that's not entirely true, but that's my imagination.

® Willow: There is something marvellous about a foggy day. Quite refreshing, really.

® Natalie. Thanks. Actually, 4°C isn't so bad. I was wearing a golf shirt and shorts today. (Hardy Canadian stock?) ;)

Loving the wash of solitude that the fog lends to all views. The time to go within approaches, productive time, time to embrace what everyone else cannot see on the surface but what is a natural cycle for us all. Enjoy, and pleasant company kept with the delightful Miss Sadie x♥x

Bear, I am so so glad to see you again here. Love this foggy atmospheric shot and look forward to going back through your new posts when I return home on Wednesday.

Bon mardi!

I do like the atmosphere of that photograph. I've always liked walking through a fog or misty landscape.

Also enjoyed reading your prior post about the tidying up of the yard. It is a lot of work, and the falling leaves of this season guarantee that more sessions will be required.

Best wishes to you and yours.

I love misty days. I think it comes from living most of my life in the dessert. Not to many of those where I live.

Strange, but the grass looks yellow and dry, not what I'd expect after rain.

Sorry to be a bit slow in replying to your notes, friends. That's how Bears are in the autumn: slow.

® Chocolate Covered Daydreams: Thanks for your visit. Sorry I missed you in my last set of responses. "Fresh" might be a better description than "extremely cold." Glad you liked the picture.

® Wendy: Fog does provide a variety of mixed and mysterious setting. Thanks for your thought.

® Genie: See you anon. Thanks.

® Frances: There is certainly something different about foggy weather.

® potsoc: Oui, une jolie photo. Merci.

® Nancy: True; there aren't many rivers or other large bodies of water that could give one such a fog in a the desert. Could this mean that desert people are clearer thinkers?

® Teacher's Pet: Glad you enjoyed this, Jackie.

® Gutsy Writer: Interesting observation about the grass. I'm not sure of the explanation. Could be the camera and the light, or that fact that we've had frosty evenings.
