Disaster has struck at the home of the Bears.
While were away for a few days, our garden was overtaken by weeds!
A closer investigation reveals the true nature of the difficulties.
How do we deal with this disaster? Bear put on his Tilley hat and considered the options.
(I know that your allotments look allot better than this.)
Let's face it; Bears are better at raiding gardens than growing gardens.
I guess we follow the old W. C. Fields plan: Take the bull by the tail and face the situation squarely.
Meaning, get on with the weeding.
This isn't coming along too badly.
There's light at the end of the tunnel!

Gee, you had me worried for nothing. I thought that something terrible had happened when I saw your blog title.
® Well, Snow: I was worried when I got home and saw the mess. A little TLC can fix up a lot of things (not all, but a lot)
I think you need a border around the garden, Bear.
® Natalie: Just be patient! You haven't seen the continuation, yet. Sheesh!!!
P.S.: Your thoughts about green are appreciated.
I am sure those weeds will soon be tackled by the great Bear.!
Happy Gardening Bear.
Sorry. OOPS! Nice green. :)
Get some knee pads Bear. Then you can really get down to it. Jim has some padded thingies that strap onto his knees and make kneeling more comfortable. They are not a fashion statement but you could get some that match your Tilley hat. I have one just like yours - bought it in Toronto. I have tried getting it eaten by an elephant yet though.
I also though a little border around your veg plot. Tells the weeds where they are not allowed.
I love the fresh green look of your new blog, and the growth of new plants, and weeds, matches perfectly. I remember when you had trouble uploading photos. Now we get a glimpse of the weeding progression via photography. Bravo. Sorry about not coming sooner to visit your new look.
® Camilla: Yes bear is weeds things under control, and aback out of control. I suppose there is some kind of law of averages here.
® Natsy: Pictures will appear anon.
® Thanks for the suggestions, Rose. And for the visits to my burblings at Skool.
® Sonia: Actually put the finishing touches on the blog in the wee hours of this morning, when I couldn't sleep. I appreciate the support and suggestions. I may not be quite finished, but this is the major shift. Feels so ursine.
Got to get down and get dirty for a while. Weeds need a-pulling.
After all, our upper body needs a good work-out before we raise a glass and celebrate the end of the week, or, in my case, Independence Day!
® lakeviewer: OH, that's the problem! I thought the weeding was the upper body workout. (Silly old Bear.)
I agree with a rosebyanyother name...kneepads are IT! For years I depended on an old pillow that I would kneel on but I'd have to move it over every couple of minutes, then resettle on it. I bought a pair of padded kneepads this year and I kick myself now for all the years I never had any. They are SO comfortable for old arthritic knees! Used to be, even with the pillow, my knees would ache after a day of weeding. Now...piece of cake!
