MORE SLUSH AND STUFF

This is a bit different from the last "Slush and Stuff."

In this case the "Stuff" includes some dislocated joints in my back. This, courtesy of Her Ladyship, Miss Sadie, who is now strong enough to move me around at will — as in her will. This is a real pain, both physically and in matters of canine management. Bear will survive both, thanks to good medication and extra rest, and some good planning (which has yet to be done).

The "Slush" is inside the Bear's head, thanks to another "black dog" (as Sir Winston Churchill put it) who has come to reside. This seems to happen every year when winter turns to spring. Bear will survive; the other dog will leave. Bear just doesn't know when.

Please Bear with me; Bear has other stories to tell, when he is able.

I am so sorry to hear that the 'blackness' has returned, Rob. I sincerely hope it will soon be wafted away - for 'the times they are a-changin'.

You need to find a local dog walker I reckon - all that pulling must be really damaging for you.

Poor Bear...Your Sadie has been quite boisterous it seems! I pray your pain dissipates soon, and that you make an extraordinarily speedy recovery!! Sending love, hugs and prayers, Janine

So sorry to hear that you are poorly. I expect Miss Sadie is really really sorry she caused you trouble.
Get well soon.

Thanks so much for your supportive thoughts, friends.

®Snow: Actually, I was up and out today. A bit harrowing, but I managed.

®Natsy: Yeah, kids. How is the your toe that Haylie broke?

®Julie: The other "black dog" may be on its way out. I managed to get to Morning Worship for the first time in six or seven weeks — that was good. Sadie and I also had a couple of short walks. I appreciate the suggestion of a walker, but this is something that Sadie and I need to work out, so we need to stay at it.

®Janine: I keep saying, "Sadie's only a puppy; she doesn't know her own strength." That's beginning to wear fairly thin, at least for my mind. I'm all right for the shape I'm in; I think that's what counts.

®Jean: I'd like to give Sadie that much credit. But like any other baby, she lives in the minute — she sees and she wants to go for it. Sadly, I'm not always as ready as her. Sigh.

®Rosaria: I'm getting as much rest as I can. Fortunately, I have effective meds. Unfortunately, life is not prepared to pass me by; things like taxes need attention. Reality is all very taxing, some days.

®Natalie: Oh! Oh! Oh! Perhaps you should declare yourself a disaster area and appeal for federal assistance!

®Femin Susan: So glad you dropped in. Thanks for the lovely, supportive comment. Hope you'll be back.

I cannot believe that I don't have your blog listed on my blog under BLOGGER'S BLOCK and I will rectify it immediately if not sooner.

Desperately trying to lure my black dog out of my life - having some success. Helps when the sun is out, more difficult when it is grey. As for the EBJ ( Evil Black Job) my whippet Sassy we've started dog traiing...she's very motivated by the snacks but has problems focussing on who is meant to be giving them to her and has already taken up nicking snacks from other dogs...(sigh!)

I am sorry to read that you have been in the wars. I hope that you will soon feel like yourself again.

Easter blessings to all of you.

®Dana: as long as my head doesn't end up on the block, things will be OK. Thanks.

®Tattie: Glad to hear when anyone has success with a black dog, real or figurative. Greetings from Sadie to Sassy — one black dog to another. Sadie and I are getting ready for training classes.

®CW: Thanks for the supportive note. I am also hopeful. Perhaps the spring will bring a break.
