ANOTHER CANADIAN LOOK AT TUSCON AND REP. GIFFORDS, AND ALL

This link is to The Tyee, an on-line publication based in British Columbia, Canada.

The story is called, "Arizona Shooting: Americans Must Face This Reckoning."

It reflects concerns raised back in 2004, about the lack of real debate in US politics.

My feeling is that those responsible for the extremist rhetoric will not, probably cannot, own up to what they have been doing. I expect they will simply "deny, deny, deny." (I've already seen some of that with Americans on Canadian tv.)

What do you think will happen next?

Unfortunately, more of the same, they will never learn.

I tend to agree with Potsoc, however after the Martin Bryant massacre here in Australia, guns were handed in.
What will it take for people to realise that the gun issue is more than 'right to bear arms' it is a humanitarian issue which is bigger than America, bigger than the world in fact.
Believe it or not, God is bigger than America, and it is an offence to break God's law about taking another life. Full Stop.

Let's hope it leads to decent Americans getting tired of the bombastic garbage some of their "entertainers", and the are entertainers, not journalists, have been spewing.

Based on the arguments of the Right, the Imams and Madrassehs spouting hatred of anything and anyone non-radical Islamist on an almost hourly basis have no responsibility for the violence in Pakistan, Afghanistan and elsewhere?
Also as another commenter said, the Right's argument takes the wind out of their own sails when it comes to violent video games and pornographic movies.

I think that article absolutely spews hatred and ignorance. I am going to refrain myself from saying anything further out of respect for the victims of this tragedy...
